Afterschool Advocates,

With the President’s “skinny budget” proposing the elimination of afterschool funding for 1.6 million students, and House and Senate Appropriations subcommittees beginning the FY18 spending process, we are asking for your support of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers initiative. Please see our organizational sign-on letter (at the link below) calling for at least current funding of $1.16 billion for 21st CCLC within the FY18 House and Senate spending bills. Local, state and national organizations are invited to sign-on by clicking:

Please feel free to forward this email to other organizations who may be interested in signing the letter.
At this time we are asking that individual people NOT sign this letter, however individuals can take action HERE.
The 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) Program (Title IV Part B of the Every Student Succeeds Act), supports local school and community based providers of afterschool and summer learning programs who provide quality programming to more than 1.6 million children in high-need communities. In every state and almost every Congressional district, 21st Century Community Learning Center funding supports afterschool and summer learning programs that offer locally based school and community solutions that keep children and teenagers safe, inspire young people to learn and support working families.
Afterschool Alliance has updated its homepage with press statements, talking points, action alerts and more to help you advocate!
Thank you for your support,

Mary Graham
